Why Montanez Yu
Because communication is key.
Many of our clients come to us after struggling to reach their last lawyer. That experience shaped how MY Law works.
You reach your attorney.Call or email, and you talk with the lawyer handling your matter.
Plain answers. We tell you where things stand and what happens next.
One firm for both.Injury clients can plan their estates with attorneys they already know.
Choosing a Lawyer
Four questions to ask before you hire anyone.
01
Who will handle my matter?
Find out whether you will work directly with an attorney or be handed off to staff once you sign.
02
How do your fees work?
Ask for the fee terms in writing before you commit, including any costs you might be responsible for.
03
How will I hear from you?
Ask how often you will get updates and how quickly your calls and emails will be returned.
04
What are my realistic options?
A good lawyer explains the likely paths and the tradeoffs of each, not just the best-case outcome.

Common Questions
Answers before you call.
Personal Injury
-
Nothing. The consultation is free. If we take your case, there is no fee and no costs unless we recover.
-
In California, most injury lawsuits must be filed within two years. If a city, county, or state agency is involved, a written claim is usually due within six months. Call early so a deadline does not decide your case.
-
Not before you talk with us. Adjusters record statements and use them to value your claim. We can handle those conversations for you.
Estate Planning
-
A flat fee, quoted in writing before we begin. Plans start at $2,000 for individuals and $2,500 for married couples. The consultation is free.
-
If you own a home in California, a will alone usually means your family goes through a court process before they can sell or transfer it. A living trust avoids that. We will tell you which fits your situation.
-
Yes. We review existing plans, update them after a marriage, divorce, new child, or move, and make sure your home and accounts are actually held in the trust.
Client Reviews
“[They] handled one case for me and ever since then anytime I have any legal problems or questions [Robert & Jay are] the first one I call. Always answers, always friendly, and I never feel like I’m being rushed off the phone.”
